making a website url automatically link....

to another website.
for instance, buying a website domain name www.blahblahblah.co.uk and when someone clicks on that website,it takes them to an ebay shop.
possible?how?any help appreciated!

If you want it to still look like you are on blahblahblah.com then a frame set is your easiest option

Will be shite for google though. So id recomend a couple of choice pages on the actual server wiht links out to the ebay stuff.

are you just looking for the facility to have the domain name displayed but the actual link different as that's easy:

http://www.blablabla.com

otherwise you need something like chip said to make it look like the ebay shop is on your domain name.

Chip 28-05-2008 06:18 PM

I think he means when people type the domain name him.

Still a simple option of course, a meta refresh tag, but like I said, google wont do anything with it.

big_wig_074 28-05-2008 06:21 PM

er....i am sure youre talking in a different language!lol!
basically the person who owns the shop etc wants to make business cards with a website on it,but obviously doesnt want to write "see my ebay shop" on the card,so you type in www.blahblah.com and you are directed to the ebay shop, make sense?

i kind of agree with chip, not just for googling as i know fuck all about that, but a nice welcome page with a big company name/logo and basic info then a big CLICK HERE TO BUY MY SHIT style link nobody can miss that goes direct to the ebay shop.

maybe, i dont know, just thinking out loud

Chip 28-05-2008 06:24 PM

Meta refresh is the easiest way then mate.

But like I said, you would be better off doing a couple of decent content pages and then link from them, as it will appear in google then.

big_wig_074 28-05-2008 06:26 PM

ahhhh ok,i understand the links idea, but metafresh sounds like toothpaste to me,cheers,i will pass on the info

Or he could just forward the domain to the eBay shop link (which will be a 'permanent' link for an ebay shop)- should be in the options of any decent domain name company's control panel.

But, as said above by Chip & Stav, an info page with a link would be better not only for search engines but also as people don't necessarily like typing in a URL and then being immediately redirected elsewhere...
