will my 2.1 bottem end out of my erst with turbo work in a efi xr3i?
i have just bought a 1990 g reg escort xr3i efi and was wondering if i was to put my escort rs turbo 2.1 zvh bottom end with stage 3 t3 work bolted to the xr3i head and efi inlet, also using the xr3i loom,
anybody help me out,

cheers matey, also ive heard some ppl say that theres some sort of sensor on either the block or head, if its on the head it doesnt matter as im using the xr3i head, but if its on the block how can i get round it,
also will my cam out of my escort rs turbo head fit in the xr3i head?
anybody .....................

thanks lads, were will the sensor plug into?? also why will i have to use the flywheel off the efi, shouldnt the one off the 2.1 be ok??
also my 2.1 in my escort rs turbo wasnt using an amal valve, will i have to use one on the efi setup?? will it chatter louder with one on??

the sensor is front of the block between the bolt holes for the gearbox,if u have an efi flywheel on there already your ok and can use it,use a bleed valve,wont effect the chatter

the efi flywheel has a tooth missing for the cps to register tdc im not 100% sure if you can use the one you have allready got mate sure sumone will be able to tell you.the amal valve doesnt give you chatter just use a big cone filter and you will get plenty if you dont use a dump valve.

dont remember seeing the sensor but wasnt lucking for it, is it near the 2 top bolts that hold the gearbox to the engine? will there deffo be one on there? if theres not, is it a big job to put one on?
so by the sounds of it im better off using the efi flywheel!!

thanks lads, so all in all i will need a ofac ecu, swap the flywheel for the efi one, swap the cams over and vernier, new gasket and bolts an if i need one a cps sensor, suspect you can get these from ford!

if your goin to get the wiring from the 3i you will need the co patometer and map sensor aswell mate.

just had a look on the 3i and the sensors there, dnt think its on my 2.1 so i will just put that one off the 3i on the 2.1,
also on the fuel rail itself there is what i would say was a half inch breather pipe that goes from the right hand side of the rail to the left then to a ''t'' piece then to a little airfilter thats connected to the lefthand top breather of the rocker cover, when i took off the oil filler cap it smelt really fuelly is this right??
also there is another 1 inch pipe that goes from the inlet just to the left of where the logo '' efi '' is, to another sensor type thing thats bolted to the top of the arch, then another pipe comes off that to another little airfilter, should this pipe with the filter go to the top left hand breather on the rocker cover??

If youve got the donor car then all sensors etc should be there mate if not then you can pick them up off ebay for buttons if you have any probs i may have a map sensor and co patometer if you need them.

the map sensor and co pot should still be in the 3i engine bay then unless they have been taken out.the map sensor should have a vac hose going to it from the inlet and the co pot should be next to it.

think i no were you mean matey, 1 inch pipe from the inlet goes to it then another pipe comes off it to a little airfilter, should it not go to the rocker cover breather tho instead of the small airfilter?

there should only be one pipe that goes to the map sensor and thats from the inlet were it sez efi.The co pot should have a 3 pin plug on it with a screw in the middle of it.I dont know if runnin ofac will be any good to you realy as you may not get the fueling you need,you may need to use ofab with a 3 bar map sensor or just go for gotech or megasquirt management instead so you can get it mapped properly.
