I still have the friction scars left where my old man had my wage away from me!
£40 a week I used to pay and I moaned like fuck!
When you support yourself is when you realize just what a bargain you were getting! My old man didnt need the money, it was just about me paying my way. Didnt thank him at the time, I do now!

I never paid anything while I was @ home, but then I did used to do all my fathers PJ mechanic jobs that he could not get time for and he would claim half the money from them. Mind you, I moved out 6 years ago into my own place and he still pays the rent on one of the garages round the corner that I keep a car in (£11 per week), plus my tools are still in his garage and I use his driveway most weekends.

Ever since I’ve started work my parents have never asked me rent I think they would me too embarrassed to take money of their own son or daughter just to live with them no offence to anyone though plus the house is all paid off which is good.

Its got to depend on how much you earn/personal circumstance surely?
When I started work at 16/17 I was paying rents 20 a week, but then I was only earning 50 a week.
Later on this went up to about £100 a month (only an extra 20) until I moved out for good at 18.
I also used to wash and detail my dads car and cut the grass. I did these mainly because I'm a perfectionist and it wound me up seeing my Dad do a bad job of both - more so than out of generosity.

I get paid fortnightly, so I give my mother £70 every two weeks. She is more than happy with that, for me that includes dinner on the table, washing done, clothes ironed and a few other bits and bobs. It hardly make's a dent worth talking about in my wages and I have it quite easy, but I still want my own place!

PassionFord Post Whore!!
I pay £130 a month.
My parents dont feel guilty for taking it.
I could afford to pay a lot more but the point of living at home is its cheap....
I know people who pay more- but they dont last long.. lol

I fucking wish!
I've got to earn 1k a month not including the missus's wage's before i have a penny to myself.
Mortgage, gas&leccy, phone and tinterweb, council tax, water, t.v licence and fuck know's what else i've forgot about
Thus when i broke my foot last week i only had 1 day off in casualty then took that as a holiday real tears.
Great having your own gaff though just wank having to pay for it

This post as gutted me a bit, heres me a few years ago thinking that moving out at about 23/24 is about right, dont want to be classed a pleb that still lives at home, even though I had no reason to have my own place (and still dont) I thought it only fair to the old man that it was time I moved out.
Now I see I was a complete mug and that everyone still lives at home paying the best part of fuck all and having spare cash, where as muggins here is in debt upto the eyeballs and has fuck all money
