Superunleaded Vs Unleaded with octane booster?
 

both my cars have been mapped running on super-unleaded. on the rare occasion i have put normal unleaded in, they dont like it (poor idling, pinking, and generally dont feel as perky)

now that the price difference between normal unleaded and super is stretching more and more (now getting to be 8 - 9p more per litre) i'm thinking i might be better off using normal super-unleaded and putting octane booster additive in?

the aditive will give you feck all really, notihgn like putting in super. if you NEED to put in 95, put in a fiver or less, just enough to get you to the nearest proper petrol station

You're lucky you've not lost your engine (assuming it's turbocharged) if it's mapped for 98...

yep one is supercharged zetec one is turbo zetec. i've sometimes had to put the odd tenner of normal unleaded in when i've been stuck.

i didnt realise the additives were so un-effective?
