Nick at PF always told me that he hated Mobile and that most of the Ford Saloon racers would swear by Millers.

The car has been off the road for 2 and half years and my engine was built in 2004. Although its only dont 4k miles since the rebuild. Allways seemed a bit noisy on the mobil though as if the cam bearings were "dry".

Used to run all my other cossy's on castrol RS and it was a load thicker than the mobil.

What do the big bhp owners run then??

Who have gotten their info from experts in oil?

Anything FS will do if changed often enough, just like most things, the 'comfort cushion' you require - like running Castrol SRF on a road car.
Royal Purple is the oil to use, although not cheap.
Silkolene is a good oil for a good price.
Fuchs is coming along, recommended and filled from new in many decent cars now, cracking price too.

I have used the big three(mobil, castrol and now silkolene) in my engine.

Noticed very little difference in the 3 but now use Silkolene on advice from people that are in the know.

id say with his reputation that he can comment quite truthfully on the subject rather than people reading random things on the net.

Millers say there oil will only last 1 track day...used to say 2

Silkolene claim 2 track days...

So 20k on this oil and its fine is insane.......

Both these oils need changing every 2k IMHO if 1 track day is all they do....

Default best oil for escos

harvey said the same to me mobil is a good oil,I have used Mobil 1 15/50 for 6 years now, my 4x4 sapphire road car was on the dyno at ava 250whp and did 25000 hard road miles with out a problem changed every 8000 miles filter every 4000 don't forget you are toping up with fresh oil from time to time and there is no need to change to soon. engine went to harvey's just over a year ago for a full rebuild to 410bhp and there was no signs of wear at all, still runing mobil 1 15/50 in track car 1500 very very hard miles and the engine sounds sweet. I would listen to the people who build engines and have done for a long time but hay some internet mechanics know best

I had Silkolene & Castrol RS Chemically analised after a Topspeed run.
Compete eye opener that Castrol produce such a crap oil. Silkolene coped well & is the only recommended choice of MAD & MikeR.

Please note this is advice, it makes no difference to me if its ignored, you cant tell how an oil has performed by looking at it, or saying you have used it for years, I used RS in my engines for long periods & now realise I was slowly wearing them out because of the inability of the oil to cope with extremes.

As you say that was enough of a reccomendation for me as well, I got mine through Oilman on here and if you mention PF you get a discount.
I've been very impressed with the Pro S

Will the Pro S make the engine sound any differently over using the Mobile 15/50?

EDIT TO ADD: The usual top end rattle etc?
