just managed to get a PM sent to him, his last time on here was 7-7-08, not having a go now, ive been away for a long time also so maybe he has for a while, i fitted the new unit in january but ive got a 2nd hand old unit on the car at the moment as ive just got it insured
prob is i dont want to cause a massive argument, i have sent a few pms and no reply, but in the past (im talking many months ago) i have tried to send a pm and it would not send as his message folder has been full up.
story is i sent my t2 turbo about a year ago to be reconditioned with a step gap rear seal about last july/august 2007 i believe, i had been away so i came to fit the turbo in january 2008 just after my best friends birthday with my new oil return to the sump for better draining and the unit is smoking more than it was, even on idle was bad, driving filled the road with smoke and leaked like no tomorrow.
now im sure if karl inspects the unit he can tell it has not been used and i only done about 3 miles, i managed to source a second hand unit for now.
how long was it actually under warranty for. was the company run by him or not?
6 months for a recon unit i believe, ill have to look at the reciept! got it done late july 2007, didnt fit the unit till early jan as i was away, im sure if anyone in the know about turbo units can tell its not been used
rich here is the earliest thread i started about the oil smell and burning oil back in february, i did fit it in january but left if for a while till i started a thread as the car was not on the road.

our recon units come with a 2 year warranty and i have been in the turbo business since time began lol
he has been in ireland, i also said i will show proof of sorn and insurance renewel to say its not been on the road as its been sorn for 3 years and it was insured last month.
well if hes willing to sort it even after all this time he cant be that bad a lad. most places would stick by the guarantee time limit.
if you look at my link above i posted something in february, sent an e-mail to him which i got from the site but no reply, im just glad i have finally made contact
