MK4 Granada Cossie Auto to Manual Conversion
Hi my dad has a MK4 Granada 24v cossie and wants to do a auto to manual conversion. I just need to know which is the best gearbox/s to use that will take a beating cos he's got an heavy right boot and which motors I can find these gearboxes.
Thanks in advance for any replies

So he needs a 2.9 RWD MT75 a manual peddle box or a 2.0 mt75 box and a an xr4x4 gear box plus the usual peddle box and clutch cable.
Which is the best way to go? because he's replaced the box a few times and doesn't want to keep replacing it. plus I hope I will gain his redtop engine and 18" alloys of his Astra GTE convertible for my corsa, what a dad hey? lol plus i wanna get us all ready for TRAX

As said above, the main bits are...
RWD MT75 Gearbox
2.9 Clutch and flywheel
Spigot bearing for 2.9
Manual peddle box
Just done mine, all fairly straight forward...

first of all, find yourself an xr4x4 that's got the 2.9 engine in it
you can take virtually all the parts from this bar the 2wd bit of the box
you swap across the pedal box (direct fit)
the clutch cable (might need to use a longer one but it's trial and error here)
the flywheel (and bolts)
fit a new spigot ring as the auto box won't have one
then find yourself a 2wd mt75 box
swap the front casing from the 4wd box and the input shaft onto the rest of the 2wd box
the later 24v's have a cable speedo so no wories there either
you'll also need a prop from a granada as it's about 14 inches longer than the one you've got at the moment plus the fittings are different
and you'll also need the gearbox mount
and the centre console from a manual granada to make it look "factory"
to be honest, the car is much better with an auto and you'll have some issues with the bobo effect but nothing that can't be solved
