How many cars am I allowed to sell per year before the DVLA think i'm trading and tell the tax man? Do they go off the financial year or the calender year?

Duno but I try not to have more than 4 or 5 in my name in any 12 months. Brothers, sisters, mum, dad etc. Anyone you trust can have one or 3 in their name.

holdon holdon, so if you dont stick with your cars, like change often, you get taxed for it, what the foook, god you get taxed on bloody everything lol (no i havent just realised) but being taxed for changing your cars a lot

They don't have to know, they will assume you made a profit , you will have to prove otherwise, been there done that, although not with cars.

well, I have been told that it is 6 cars per calendar year before you are classed as a trader. Hope that helps!

If you buy 1 car and sell it for proffit the tax man would like his bit ,,like it or not there are people who will tell you " its easy mate just do blar blar blar " the tax man has seen it all before , and yes you may get away with it for a year maybee 2 but when they catch you your screwed

this has been simplified so much on here, its not so straight cut, personal allowance comes into moeny earning for a start, as does vat etc so from person to person it differs
