Default Cosworth Cam Cover "Polishing"

Im currently refurbing a Cossie Cam Cover, but Im a bit stuck on how to re-polish the shiny parts of it??

Ive got 80,320 and 400 GRIT sanding disks, but they have not given the polished look Im after. Does anyone have any suggestions? (I dont want to be polishing for hours )

Cheers for any help...

My m8 in the paint shop uses his DA sander and then mops it to give it a mirror finish.
