tomtom 720 won't turn on properly?
it was working fine one day. turned it on next day and all i got was a picture of the tomtom with a small picture of a disc drive next to it and a red cross flashing above it.
if you connect it to the pc the picture of the disc drive and the red cross disappear but i still cant do anything with it.
i have tried resetting it but it is just the same. any ideas before i ring them tomorrow?

common probelm on the tom toms is that they freeze and once this happens they are useless just like yours has, has happened to a few of my friends if you want it fixing you have to send it to tom tom apperantly... unlucky mate

sort of like that yes.but it never gets passed that screen, and i have a flashing red x above the picture of the hard drive..when you plug it in to the computor you get the bing-bong sound from the computer so it knows something is connected, but when you go to tomtom home it doesn't think it is connected. as when you click on one of the icons it keeps asking for the tomtom to be connected.
