Default Which dvd home cinema system to buy for up to £300? Help

Ok im looking to get a dvd cinema system for home. what do i need to look out for?

TBH im trying to kill a few birds with one stone as i want this system to give me good sound Quality for music CD's and also good quality DVD.

also i like these ones with the usb port and radio

these 2 are some i looked at yesterday:
http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/p....do?sku=393584

http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/p....do?sku=406830

now the Panasonic sounded spot on and the Pioneer didnt seem as good which i was surprised at. This may have been that it wasnt set up properly.

So what have you guys got and what do i need to be looking for?

Thanks in advance

I asked myself this very same question a few months ago. I walked into Currys and Comet and played with the display models for ages.

I ended up getting the Panasonic (the one you have linked to with the 4 tallboys) and it really does sound very very good and the build quality seemed superior to anything else on display, Its was £330 in Comet at the time so its even more of a bargain now. Go for the Pansonic

Whilst I was in there buying it though I did get the salesman to show me there Bose setups. My god they are on a completely different level, but for £2800 no wonder !

Hi mate i ended up going for the panasonic one to, much better than most, looking and quality wise, the four tall speakers look the dogs in my opinion to the four little ones, but i suppose it depends on the style of your house which looks best. i love the sound when watching the telle now!

Logitech Z-5500 THX 5.1

I looked everywhere and a mate had a set, but I dismissed them because they was a 'PC' brand. How wrong was I. They sound amazing, I run everything through optical connections.

£170 in most places, so some £££ left over for a nice dvd player.

Golf Ball Speakers
Deceptively big sound from speakers the size of a golf ball. Less is truly more at 4.3 x 5.6 x 3.9cm. These ultra compact satellite speakers are so small, you can put them anywhere and are designed to be virtually invisible. Small on space, big on sound. With 550W of total output power, these speakers fill even large rooms with breathtaking sound.

How about if you have a PS3 for example, how can you connect it to the sound system & tv, at the mo I just connect the PS3 directly to my TV via HDMI cable

with the Pansonic setup you use the optical out form the PS3 to the optical in on the amp, also using the hdmi cable from ps3 to hd tv, that way you get the hd picture quality and keep the doby pro logic sound through the surround system !
