Is there anyway to get a scrapped car unscrapped?
Basically a mate who weighs cars in has got an si he was going to scrap. Its in really good condition, only reason he was given it to scrap was because the gearbox let go.
Unfotuantly the owner has already sent the log book off to say its been scraped. But id like to re use the shell if i can as its a waste of a nice little motor.
Is there anyway to get it unregestered as scrap and back on the rd?

hello,
Work at the DVLA but nothing to do with tax or fines or anything before you all start
I'd get your mate to write in and confirm the car has not been scrapped and the previous owner sent in the notification in error. DVLA may want to inspect it but that shouldn't be a problem. Used to get a lot of this situation when I used to work in Customer Enquiries and they can help in some situations. The number you need to ring is 0870 240 0010 and just use the voice system.
Good luck buddy and be polite on the phone, you'll be amazed what a difference it makes
