Default Zetec S TDCI

Anyone got/driven/been in one? Looking for a quick daily driver that can also do the big miles and Diesel fuel economy would be helpful. Any honest no holds barred opinions would be much appreciated.

would guess he means fiesta? same power as the petrol and more torque, just don't rev like a petrol. we have a little test at work that is uphill off a roundabout to a certain point on the hill.
both petrol and diesel do 62mph.st170 focus do's 70 still in second gear.bosses xkr do's 77. my old cav turbo did 85 and a zx12r of one of the other lads did well over a ton.

I've got a Mondeo ST TDCI. Cracking diesel car. As quick as most petrol cars, feels like a petrol when you're driving, very economical, I do mostly motorway driving and I'm averaging about 45mpg, and very comfortable to drive for long distances. And they're very well specced as well, well mine is.

I've got a 2003 1.4 Fiesta TDCi with the Duratorq... IIRC it's something like 64bhp with 120/lbs/ft. It's capable of cruising at 80-90 mph easily. Handling has improved vastly with the new shape Fiestas compared to the old shape ones.

It's a cracking little car and gets me to places just as quick as the Evo does, at a fraction of the price. Hard driving I get over 50mpg, normal driving 70+mpg

Year's road tax = £35
Year's ins fully comp & protected £150

I have just bought a new shape Mondeo 2.0 Tdci (140bhp) Titantium X. The car is an awesome bit of kit (quality wise). MPG is not too bad considering the size (weight) of the car.

Bags of room though and I think they look a million dollars.

Presuming he won't wanna do big miles in the Fiesta. Just my opinion though

He says he wants a quick daily driver so he can't be talking about the fezza zetec-s tdci because i've been in one and they are bit sluggish to be honest, unless you fiddle with the induction and swap the turbo for a mondy st tdci one and have it all mapped

hello,

sorry for delayed response, been at the rally

Was talking about the 1600 fiesta, appreciate it's not gonna be crazy fast but it's a diesel fiesta so can't complain it's not.

Thanks for your opinions folks

cracking cars, mine does 52mpg average, been reliable, cheap servicing.

also done 1100 miles in one trip and didnt have a back ache after.

they are noisey and quite slow though on a negative side

very cheap to run, and isn't the road tax £35 a year or something?

Also, if your going to do big miles in it, i would get the leather armest from Team Torquesteer, think its about £50, makes cruising on the motorway alot more comfortable
