Default Get rid or keep?

Been having a ton of problems with my Fiesta runaround lately and i'm just getting completely pig sick.

Engine blew, so got a new engine and changed clutch and all other ancillaries etc and mated it up to the gearbox. Fitted it back into the car.

Clutch has since gone (my "new" slave cylinder has failed)

Anyway, before the engine was fitted I was having a problem where the car just didn't want to accelerate and would top out at 40mph in 5th on various occassions. I was told to check the MAF, Lambda sensor etc still with no avail. Even with the new engine in, it still has this problem.

Whilst poking round the other day I noticed the CV boots on the front needed doing, the brakes all round need doing, theres a knackered ball joint on the n/s front and a few other bits. All MoT failures, MoT due 19th December. Taxed end November.

Now since ive spent a bit of cash on the new engine etc im in a predicament. Do I repair the clutch then shell out getting it up to MoT standard (by which point ill have spent a small fortune on what is a wanky 1.3 endura Fiesta) or do I just cut my losses, bin it and get another cheap hack?

I'm all for getting something else but my missus is kicking off due to me having already spent a fair bit of cash on it and has told me I have to fix, or else

fix it yourself.....you could do all that for £100 if you did it yourself

whatever you buy for £300 is gonna need little odds and sods doing

and just cos its got 12 months mot doesnt make it safe

Would be doing the work myself anyway m8

Only problem I have is that I bought it for £100 anyway because I knew there was bits and bobs wrong with it. But I happen to change cars regulary anyway so the aim was to run the tax/mot out and scrap it. Dont want to have to pour money in it to take a loss when I decide to sell it thats all

Cheap cars are only cheap if you don't spend money on them. Then they become expensive cars

Buy the crappy mondeo, and then drive it till it breaks then buy another crappy car and so on....

Exactly my sentiments!

Although I am a bit dubious about the insurance situation. The Fiesta is the 4th car on that policy since May and has only been on for 5 weeks. When I changed from my last Mondeo to the Fiesta they asked me if I was a trader due to the amount of substitutions so am kinda under the impression they'll tell me to fuck off and refuse the insurance if I change again so soon

Bought another Fiesta (as mentioned in another post) £275 with full MoT just needs some tax on it. Gonna whack the alloys on off my old shitter then stick the shitter in my lockup - got to be some parts on it (i.e the 67k recon engine ive just fitted to it, newish exhaust etc) just in case anything goes wrong with this new one
