mate
your car is worth about 4k tops
sell the parts on ebay make your self a few quid
as for that plate burn it its shit
as for your comment on insuring the car as a classic for 250 quid
unless your 80 and never use the thing thats bollocks
and since when has a 330bhp cossie been excellent on fuel???
i sold my 2 owner from new 350bhp white saff in excellent condition with service history and a full engine rebuild 2yrs ago for 6500 pound
and judging by your cars pictures and spec mine was far superior

7k? Wake up.......
The pictures in your September thread of the car look alright... Nothing special IMO
70k miles, no rebuild? put off No.1
What are your 2k worth of spares? Being worth that must then i'd surely mention what they are to get the sale going! But nothing......
You could say i've spent £x amount on this and £x but it doesn't work like that i'm afriad. Pictures make a great sale aswell....
If your not prepared to drop the price then the car won't sell. End Of!

i sell cossies and to be very blunt they have to be keenly priced to sell.
i price my cars carefully and they sell.
for instance -very very clean and straight silver stage 3 4x4 sapph-fsh,sold within a day to someone on here for 5k.
your ad for the white sapph does not inspire a buyer to come over with 7.5k in hard earned cash, with the mindset that he is going to have to pay to get it painted(£1500ish for proper job).
how much did the 39k mile l reg radiant red sapph just sell for?9k......
you asked for advice and got some decent advice as far as im concerned.the plate isnt worth what you thought.sell the car as it is without the parts and put the parts on ebay-if they are good sought after parts they will do good money.
just my opinion

Another thing in your advert..
You have owned the car for 10 years and it you said it won one of the shows before you had it?
So 11 years ago it won a working class show

That CDZ plate is worth nothing.
And its from Northern Ireland, not Ireland. 2 very seperate places
As for you having problems selling the car... You want to try buying a car !!!!!!!!
IMO there are a lot more people selling duff cars, described as perfectly mint, than there are idiots trying to buy them.
Mint condition is something Ive struggled to understand in adverts. Because any cars Ive traveled to England to view, that have been described as mint, have been nothing better than average-good condition.
Some have actually been shite, and the seller really deserved a broken face for wasting our time and money.
But you just have to keep looking, and eventually the right car will come along.
So if your car isnt selling....its certainly not the fault of the buyers

ok well ill reply as you have started a topic asking
SORRY BUT ITS TOO BLOODY EXPENSIVE !
for 7k id be expecting a v v clean last of the 4x4 in a sought after colour and a reasonable spec
bearing in mind you can pick up late 4x4s for around 4k (obv not total minters)
i sold my k plate white one last year, actually it used to belong to nikteazer on here, wasnt a bad car drove well, presentable and nothing horrid about it, price em well they sell fine, 4000 i got for mine

Would you be interested in a p/x?
I have available today (no re-spray required) the private; MU.PET.
Price reduced now (you will need to supply your own number plate tape) to £6995 ovno.
I may even accept a rusty old 2wd Cossi with a NI plate ( that needs a re-spray) but will price accordingly.

Sell the spares and plate first, then deduct the money you make from the spares off the price of the car and it will be more realistic, from the pictures i would say £4500 thats looking past the green detail which is easy replacable.
Good luck with the sale

anyway the cars not worth what your asking tbh.. for my saph i paid 8300 and was completly standard and was concourse..since then iv spent thousnads on my car..and tbh my saph is one of the best you will ever find..th body work is mint no rust what so ever..no respary needed..all the engine is detailed etc...when it comes to sell it be lucky to get 8k for it..my point is..dont matter how much you spend onit..in someone elses eyes its not worth that..

Just my opinion but i'd rather have a sapph than an Escort or a 3dr.

I think like Jay said earlier if you want to sell them they have to be priced competitively. You've had yours a long time and it's low mileage so I can see what you're saying about wanting someone whose going to look after it to buy it, but at the end of the day it's the money you need to look at. Although to be honest now most people who are buying these cars are enthusiasts whatever they look like.
I would definitely take off the bit about the plate being worth a couple of grand, because that's definitely not true. I think you could go to any registration dealer now and that would cost a few hundred.
But at the end of the day it's your car and if that's the money you want for it and you don't mind if it either takes a long time or it doesn't sell then that's your business. It certainly looks nice but I think your price is steep too, they do have to be priced sensibly because there isn't the market for them that there was whatever anyone says.

I will be looking to buy a sapphire cossie before christmas, im looking to spend £6500 and id hope for that i wont have to have it painted, i think looking at what there going for on here, yours is not worth what your asking for it as you can get a good saff that doesnt need paint for less.
Sorry but thats my 2p

The sort of person who buys one would need to add probably 3-4k to the price for a 3dr of the same quality and prob 6-8k for the same spec Escos.
3 Examples of exceptional Saphs (8k + cars) would be my old one on page 1... Jim Greens old one which I think was 10k+ and scooby slayers which was around 8k too. Inceidentally there are 2 more very good cars in the for sale section. Bosch Mans car and the white 52k big spec one.

i have always wondered why sapps dont go for as much?surely the way they get broke and mistreated in a few years more so 2wd ones they value is going to rocket???as there r just a colt car as the 3 door in many ways!although not quite on the same level as a 3door but a escort cossie aint as well!i think that this thread has got abit out of order knocking his sapp which is quite clearly his pride and joy, there is no real need to knock it is there??????????????its been owned by him for a long time which surely means its a half decent one,all he asked is y is it hard to sell it to a owner thats going to look after it like he has!not slag my cossie off!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no ones slagging the car, they are just pointing out the answers to the questions he asked..... too expensive, no pics, poorly worded advert, hugely over-valued plate and no description of the spares package......
Sorry but enough people have the same view...

The reg would easily fetch over a grand in northern ireland (worthless in southern ireland). Price varies according to numbers, less numbers = higher value. Check out a local auction site,
http://securewebpayments.co.uk/ready....asp?offset=20
so i'll agree with everybody else, sell the late, sell the spares, reduce the price and sell it to the first person with the cash. If you are worried about who buys it i think what you are actually hoping for is somebody to pay you to store it until you afford to buy it back again???
