clutch ratchet!
hi everyone!
i can remember seeing a post a while back about a clutch ratchet snapping on an s2, but i cant find it unfortunately!
i also remember the guy making a new one from metal and it looked really well done.
does anyone else know what post im on about??
iwas driving to work this morning and slowed down to let a guy out of a slip road and when i wnt to change into second gear the pedal clicked and went to the floor and stayed there!!!
also is it easy enough to get a hold of anew one and easy to fit it as well??
thanks for any help!
much appreciated as always!!!

the problem with fitting the later quadtrant means modifiying it if your doing it like the ap website, this weakens the quadrant at the pivot point so when you turn the bolt to adjust it, with the increased clutch loads, it ends up snapping.
i had a later quadrant that was fitted to my standard pedal, it was uncut but still snapped on me within 60 miles. so many people use diff clutches, ive got a helix 4 paddle. i have the same probs as people have with the ap paddle where the clutch needs the increased radius of the later quadrant to work prop, im lucky to have found an ally quadrant which was used with a ap paddle clutch. prob is some people need the mod, some dont. ive gone down the alloy route as its a gauranteed way of making sure it never happens again and the clutch works as it should. be interesting to know what others have done as an alternative to the ap mod though.
