is an s1 towing eye the same as an rs1600i? anyone got one?

Default is an s1 towing eye the same as an rs1600i? anyone got one?

i put a s1 roll bar on my mk3 escort but have realised it has no towing eye, problem being i need to tow the car from where its being sprayed to have alarm etc fitted, it will have an rs1600i splitter fitted too if this affects it? cheers. can anyone help?

If you mean front towing eyes they are different.

S1 type bolts on underneath the ali plates and the 16i tow eye is part of one of the ARB clamps.

Personally I would take the splitter off and tie a rope on to the ARB if I had to. far from ideal but should do.

car has no brakes at the minute tho so wanted to use a poll, i need to get a brake servo and brake lines for it as it never had servo.

could i fit a 1600i one to the s1 roll bar? cheers

Not sure if the 16i clamp will fit a S1 roll bar, they come in 2 sizes for a start.

You could always weld a chopped up late ford tow eye onto one of the clamps but its the on there for good.

was thinking i may have to do that, gues it would have to be mad to hang lower than the splitter, but sounds like gud idea
