Correct.

However, if and when we get pulled up on it, I don't think many of us will throw our toys out of the pram and go on strike

I would imagine with some people that it depends on WHY they are in the office.

Personally an element of my role is "in case of emergency break glass"
Ie if the shit hits the fan and it all goes wrong, they need me there to sort it out, so even if there isnt any work for me to be doing they still want me in the office just in case.
So during those times, using the net is fine.

Much like firemen are paid to be on their arses all day "just in case" they area needed.

if i get told off the just stop me accessing pf

but we've got the same system here, i'm in the office to make sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to be doing and play superhero and come to the rescue should i need to

if the posties finish early then why can't they go and do some sorting or the like? or clean their bikes? or polish their shoes or get their hair cut or something usefull?

too much "lets go to work, rush around and post the letters in the wrong houses but who cares as long as we are finished in time to watch neighborus" attitiude me thinks, much like some of the cunts who worked here, and then they got sacked

"if you don't like your job i'm sure there will be plenty of people waiting to do it for you" tends to get them off their arses, but you have to make sure the poles know where they are going and how to read properly first

just becuase someone earns twice what you earn doesn't mean to say you can still pay in less than them and expect more in return

the bloke who earns £20k a year against the guy who earns £40k a year is still going to get teh same percentage of his money as a pension as the higher up guy, which is different to what it was beforehand

anyway, they are walking out next week as well apparently so that the whole shebang fucked up because they've got us by the bollocks
Im afraid thats got fuck all to do with why the workers are out
There are thousands of us that are not happy,so we will fight it all the way,it may (or maynot) get us anyware, only time will tell
now i shall put my feet up ive had a realy hard day

what is this national wage you are refering to then?
so if the national average is £20k a year you are earning £15840 a year instead? when you should bea earning £12672?

our company has recently been taken over and they did a whole shed load of contract changes which are almost the same as what you are complaining about

we got a £3k pay rise but no overtime clause so our basic was bigger but we wouldn't be paid overtime, but seeing as overtime isn't garanteed then that's not a problem for the guys who finish working at 2 or 3 in the afternoon as opposed to the old farts who didn't sign the contract and earn the same amount by slogging their guts out and working 12 hours a day because "i'm going to get my overtime"
we have a computer that says we can do x amount of deliveries a day
sometimes you beat the computer, sometimes you don't, but it won't make you break the speed limit on the roads and under cuts this by around 8% plus it gives you more than adequate times to make each delivery so you can knock off hours on the route if you get it to work in your favour
we also had a pension letter and some bloke came round and explained all the options, high risk, low risk, meadium risk, % payments in from the driver and from the compnay etc etc and a projected return for each investment at each leve of payments in
before that there was no pensions scheme
every day we dn't know what we are going to be doing other than riving, so one day we might go to central london, the ent we might be in peterborough, and then oxford, and then brighton or dover or ipswich or thetford or norwich of birmingham of swanley or anywhere else in the middle, and we take each day as it comes
and, along with that, our hours of work change as well, as said before, you turn up, do your job and finish

just because there are thousands of staff doesn't make it any different, you are trying to proove that the numbers will make the difference rather than manegement so who are you going to blame if it all falls in around your ears?
only yourselves
the guys who wanted to play hard ball have now gone and there are only 2 old timers left (both in their 60's) but they still do the job
why can't you guys?

and if it's a new contract they are asking you to sign, just send it back saying you aren't prepared to cheng the terms and conditions
