PMSL - anyone remember how much snow there was at the ring late march last year...

Fuck that, why drive all that way for no track time

Dont fancy the snow ROFL!

I am all up for going on the PF trip, and maybe if the Easter break is too early for all, this could be the year that I go.

I understand the bank holiday thing, but honestly, once you have had some clean laps, there is no way of going back to it

We are going next on 13 (party including several including SiB, and Silverfox999). The way we organise it usually is out on the Sat, race on Sun and Mon, and then travel back on the Tue. This works out really well for us as only two days off are needed.

Wifey prefers the above because I am not using up the Bank Holiday away from her.

Getting quite excited about the ring now, but soooo much still to do!

Looking at the opening times it really is the best for your money. Just have to cross fingers and hope the weathers ok?

What people are missing, is you can que for an hour at easter to get on, then have a road cluttered with traffic and dead humans/cars. Plus its a mission to park/eat/piss or even get fuel.

Going when its quieter means straight on the ring, and FAR less closures/deaths holding you up on your Ł15 lap, not to mention faster lap times.

I would say 4 hours in is may is probabaly the equivalent of 12hrs at easter, if not more.

i sort of agree with that,,,,, though i belive most people on here actually hold others up rather than get held up and just the strong track boys and good drivers who will beniifit better times

eating aint a issue either aslong as everyone dont follow stu to get a meal

we managed to eat when ever we wanted and booked it ourselves

besides talking in the carpark is nice and social.... going round the ring is fun,,, but the traffic helps the chill time and discuss

Have you looked at the opening times Stu? what weekend would you suggest is best? May 10th weekend looked good but it clashes with the lakes tour/cumbria show and I cant miss that. The only other good weekend with decent opening times was clashing with croft

I'm still thinking of just going at Easter for the social, and maybe another shorter trip in August for some driving.

If your into the old RS stuff (like I am) then the Lakes is the best event on the calendar, unmissable.

Croft was brilliant last year and is the only other car show I intend on going in 2008.

That's good thinking Stu

I still think that apart from easter, the best weekend for us to go would be 9th - 14th May (or there abouts?). If we sail friday night we will be at Adeanu for dinnertime saturday. Which will give us plenty of time to check in our hotels, grap some lunch and then off to the track for some afternooon sighting laps.

Then the track is open for to full day sessions

Also as you say Stu the resturants hopefully will be a little quieter etc?

Thanks guys,im easy when ever you thinks best ill be there, im not really going for a track time, but the experience and a good laugh and a get together. I can see one problem with later in the year, is standing in a snowy car park freezy my nuts off is not as much fun as being there chatting with an ice cold beer with the sun beaming down.

I'm travelling by the ferry from Hull again Stu, seems the best way of doing it. A few pints and some grub better than a 7 hour drive? ha
