Get a e34 540i. V8 engine and RWD, think they are around 270bhp. I have its little and more sport brother the 530i again a v8. Both amazing to drive and great car for the money.

Calibra Turbo, 204bhp standard (although very few are standard), 4x4, leather, full leccys, air con and very well built with decent mpg. Not many cars have all this for around Ł2k.
You MAY be able to find a Cav Turbo for around that if you look hard enough.
