Prop Shaft Breakages.

Has anyone broken or seen a broken prop ?

If so where do they fail i.e. on the tube, on the weld between tube and UJ or the UJ itself ?

Cheers for any replies.

How much power and what conditions ? Looks like the actual tube has failed, If it has then it could do that anywhere along its length, how do I protect against that :?

was running about 550bhp inc 25 shot of nos, that was the first time i had launched it after fitting ffd 7speed and that gpA prop section you see there, had a HD one made up after that and had no probs :top:

My dad did one in his xr4i(rover V8) it twisted and then snapped like a piece of chewing gum, clean in two at 90mph!!
Only the rear exhaust hanger that I made out of 1/2" bar prevented it from dropping onto the floor, it snapped about 6" from gearbox.
