Scorpion's

has anyone ever kept them or had experience of them?
I'm looking at the emperor scorpion if that helps.
Used to keep snake's but our lass wont have snake's/spider's in the house :(
So we've agreed on either a scorpion/ scorpion's or a caimen caimen but the caimen is probably out of my price range with a big enough viv.
Any info good bad or indifferent is welcome :)

No Idea about scorpions, ive kept all sorts over the ears from 15ft Royal Python to a Mexican Red Knee Trantula.

Best of the lot ive had was a Bearded Dragon, Very placid and easy to handle :top:

I'd love another snake but the missus's say is final :wall:

Never kept them, but found this little fucker in our (empty) Jacuzzi while on holiday in Egypt. We found it at about 11pm and there was no fucking way was I going to touch it, so once we figured that it couldn't get out on its own, we left it until the morning and by then it was properly pissed off.

Deathstalker Scorpion (Leiurus quinquestriatus)
The Deathstalker is found in the deserts and scrublands from northern Africa (esp Egypt) to the Middle East. It is a large and aggressive brightly colored species. It has one of the most potent (if not the most) venoms of all the scorpions

mrjenrst Sep 2, 2007 12:37 PM

Yup definatly looks like a death stalker. Not as venomous as people think, only responsible for about 90% of death's caused by scorpion's

Just out of interest how did you get it out?
If stung by one of them you could be dead within minute's
Proper evil bastard's they are

Christian and Beccy Sep 2, 2007 12:58 PM

Oh nice.

We called one of the Gardeners over who took one look at it and said, I imagine, the Arabic version of 'Fuck that', so he went and got one of the Maid's (they are all blokes over there) who came over, took one look and uttered the same kind of thing.

He then called his boss from our room phone and after a few minutes on the phone, he cut open an empty bottle and caught it in there and took it away. Fucking hero, no way would I have gone near that.

Everyone we spoke to in the complex was shocked and the staff couldn't believe it.

That said, our hotel was practically in the middle of the desert.

Thank god it fell in the Jacuzzi. Doesn't bear thinking about had it found it's way into the Suite. :?

Especially if it was what you say .

You certainly dont want one of them crawling up your leg in the middle of the night

Whice chameleon you looking for?

our lass loves them. There so loverly to watch. When they walk/climb its so slow but so deliberate.
Magical animals.

I like the scorpions cos they havent evolved at all for millions of years. I'd of loved a praearctururus gigas as they grew upto 3 foot.

You could take the fucker for walk's. Imagine the local chav's
