yeah was gonna say zetec before i even opened it.

if you wanna be 'cool' and 'special' and have every one of the bling bling look at me crew like you then go duratec. good engines, very good in fact. pricey though.

300bhp from a zetec lump should be fairly easy and pretty drivable.

I'm asking myself exactly the same question just now!

I think EFi is a must, and a Zetec bottom end..... but apart from that I'm still undecided, some more ideas and opinions would be good to hear...

Not really bothered about driveablilty, just cost, power and durability in that order

thank for the replys guys. the only reson i don't really wanna go complate zetec is because i like it looking as standard as possable so with all the engines listed when the bonnett open, upless you know what ur looking for it could still be standard.

if that makes scence.

Yeah I did do the pix of Wul's S1

Stunning car, and a proper powerplant.... very tempted by one just like it, although the gearbox destroying power is a bit of an issue to oversome i suppose

Cvh if you got the money, zetec cheap power. But if it's a road going car 250 be enough, 300 is a lot of power for road needs set up well for it to handle well

Why not, Ive done nearly 160 and it felt ok

A decent rs turbo would piss 130 comfortably

300 in front wheel drive... that is a handful, keeping that down will be a challenge, go for smooth delivery and torque over max power. makes the drive more enjoyable I find. But if you really need that explosive kick use NOS.

My m135i bmw used to move about a bit at 150mph and that was a modern car, that said my TVR Cerbera was rock solid at 160mph and so was our z3m roadster on the autobahn, my 911 track car just about got to 150 but I was braking by the time I git there. My liitke 205 will pull160 top revs but not been past 130.

You should try it, it’s good fun... doesn’t get really scary until around 150-160...On a public road of course....
