Default Why dont people call???

Hi All
This is a serious question that i would like peoples opinion on ,

I oftern place adds on here for various cars for sale aswell as cars for breaking , i ask for people to call me if they would like prices or any further info on any cars or parts ,, They dont ,,,,,they leave questions on here , which is ok but usually the best parts are sold by the time i get back on here to reply

It also fustrates me when people ask a question , then get an answer then ask another question I can tell people in a 2 min telephone call what it takes 3 hours to say over the computer

Please can anyone tell me why people are so phoneafobic ????

I am not posting this to get at anyone i am honestly just trying to understand .
Thanks Paul

i often only call people if i'm SERIOUSLY interested in something... if its just an "i'm thinking about it" i'll email or PM them or just post normally

but thats just me...

because everytime you phone a breaker they sound like there in a crushing yard and you cant hear shit, and you just get this image of a couple of thick minks in the front of a tranny van covered in grease in red overalls, half way down the motor way just about to recover another amazing low mileage sapphy

reputable breakers shouldnt mind being quizzed about there parts for the world to see

As i say bigman ,, i dont have a problem with it i just think its quicker to call as a lot can be said in a couple of mins , and also those who do call always get the good parts first

if i'm in work, it's hard for me to ring people up, but posting on the net is fine

then once i'm home after work, what is then classed as too late to ring someone????

so i'm in no win situation

so to ring in the daytime i'm stuck to weekends???

and who really likes be bothered on weekends for work????

i cool bro, also found a lot that guys like you need to be more organised, if youd take credit card it gives the buyer confidence that you aint just a 1 man band round the back of your council house etc, also you need to be on the ball with local carriers and get stuff out fast, when it takes 4 days for parts to arrive your rep soon goes to fuk.

what payment methods do you have in place and courier services for long distance customers ?

Paul livesx in no council house lol.

A rather quaint setting for a breaker and a good scenic drive thats why i always drive to buy parts off paul.

Bigman ,,
You say not just a one man band ,,,, Why is this a problem as i am ????
I dont see what difference it makes as long as people get good parts at a good price , who cares how many people are in the company .
I think you will find all the people i supply on here will have no complaints of the service i have given .

one man band isn't really an issue for me, as long as the service and goods are top notice or advertised correctly

If you advertise on the net, you should be prepared to deal with people on the net.

To be honest ,, i could do with a man to help me , but that is another overhead that only means prices have to go up to cover it , so i just struggle on
Unless anyone wants to work for me for Ł2 per hour

Thought not

This is the internet era and one of its best features is the ability to post information and adverts quickly and easily, why not when u post ur ads include some pics if relevant, bit of history with it.. ie condition etc.. and the price too. offer them the option to order online or phone as well as allways but u are essentially getting 2 types of customer this way, ie the phonaphobic ones and the inet generation. Also separating the maybe/info peeps from the serious buyers as it get the peeps just thinking off it away.

Lewis ,, cheeky Coont

The reason traders dont put prices is simple ,,,
I place an add for a 2wd cossie gearbox and say Ł200
Bloke replies showing an interest in the box , He then gets a PM from a wannabe trader offering a box at Ł180 , this does happen ,

And , i always state the condition of parts if i think its needed

Lewis ,,
I just sold a mint escoss complete rolling shell I will call you if i get anything

EscortWRC
I can understand that people prefer one or the other , but if people ask me to e/mail them i will ( even tho i dont like this option ) as i find it takes longer and isnt as personal , i like to talk to my customers as i feel you get to know them a little and get a bit of a feeling for what there after , but when i ask people to call me they dont they just keep e/mailing me .,
