Default Very trick exhaust setup...

Or over-complicated, im not sure, but deffo different...

Jus looks pretty usual, big turbo, big wastegate, big downpipe, but look, the downpipe splits to 2...

Theres an exhuast exiting at the back as usual...

But theres also TWO pipes coming out the side...

Here again, 3 pipes, side exit and screamer pipe from wastegate and rear exit is normal, side exit screamer and side exit zorst has been done on some mad cars, but why three...

THIS is why three... (look at the thing on the join of that side exit pipe)

Its this

Basicly a electronic solenoid thing to put in your exhaust, controlled in-car.

Reason for it is noise, a 4" rear exit thats unrestictive will still be fucking noisy, silencers or no silencers, and some people cant be dealing with that, and the pig hastle that comes with it, so what hes done is hook up 2 3" exhausts, one silenced rear exit so fairly quiet when driving normal, and an electronicly opened side exit for when he needs a unrestrictive zorst and dont have to worry about the noise. (And obv the screamer which opens on full boost).

Helps with ground clearance too as a 4" all way thru bore zorst is hefty as fuck.

Complicated, but if you somewhere where noise is strict as fuck (think that cars in america, its a S14 200SX with a GTR engine in it) its pretty damn clever....

as soon as i saw the first couple of pics i guessed what was coming.

must be a similar thing to what the aston martin vanquish has in it's exhaust system - nice and quiet normally, but on start up and when ragging it it opens up andsounds well fruity.

Looks cool, but I would imagine the heat will kill that before long - the one with the actuator tooks a bit more robust.

porsche have been doing it for the last few years on GT and turbo cars £1700 on top of a sports pipe. A guy i was with at goodwood had it on his turbo car porsche and it kept the noise down during testing but turned it of when on track.

The extra opening flap bit has been around for ever, some aftermarket jap exhusts come with an incar adjustable flap thingy, but thats the first time ive seen a screamer pipe, a normal rear exit, and a openable unsilenced exit all on one car.

But wouldn't it affect the fueling as when sean bicknell took his 4" exhaust off they had to back the fuelling 16% i believe.Or does this car run a seperate maps for each exhaust.Cos surely bvack pressure would have some effect on the engine. Or am i barking up the wrong tree.

but it has an external wastegate aswell.... these are noisey and looks as if the waste gate gasses pass to the back of the car through therir own pipe , not mixing with the main exhaust gasses - i think,,,

Stretch-
Id be 99% sure he opens it every time he uses the car full wack, so the fueling thing wont be an issue.

Dave-
Umm, im not sure who your replying to but...
External wastegates only loud if running through an unsilenced pipe, and even then only loud when at full boost and it opens, silent otherwise.
One of the 2 side exit pipes is the screamer pipe from the wastegate, not the rear exit, thats the normal full-time exhaust outlet.

Silenced rear exhit exhuast- Decently quiet with normal driving.
Unsilenced side exit wastegate pipe- Silent until full boost.
Unsilenced secondary exhaust pipe- Silent until you open it.

Its no good for DB limited tracks, its not a permanent noise reducer, its just a way of making a VERY loud car pretty quiet when your just driving normally.

Yea a few cars do, reason i posted this one is its different to just an exhaust with an incar adjustble noise flap in, its 3 seperate exhausts for 3 seperate reasons.

Clever, if slightly over complicated.

I tell ya the yanks in California dont give a toss about noise regs. Unrestricted Harleys are all over the place with their banging farty zorsts, Super loud V8's are everywhere. Its like the Indy 500 outside my window every morning and it really pisses me off!!
