Goodwood festival of Speed Pics... **LOTS Beware**
I entered the Times online comp and got some tickets for the friday... I only got them on tuesday so didn't really expect i'd be able to go, but after a few called in favours, I managed to blag the day of work...
I invited my mate Dean too come with me and we set of on our roadtrip at about 5.50 Friday morning, the journy down was to say the least a very long one and also very very wet, I don't mind admiting that as we pulled in for a pitstop at Watford Gap, I was tempted to ask Dean if he wanted too turn back as the weather was that bad... but we carried on and finally arrived... to glorious sunshine
I could go on for ages about how good it is but i'll let the pics do the talkin, all I will say is I deffo plan to go again, but it really needs 2 days to take it all in, it really is nothing like I expected.
The pics are a bit random, and also of varying quality as I used both my digicam and phone.

I went today and the weather totally ruined it, I have been for about 7 years running and this year was by far the worst due to the weather,it was like glastonbury
Didn't go to the rally stages or any where near them due to the mud
Was still good but on a good year it is fantastic

The Black and Red one is a car thats been designed by Colin Mcrea, and built by DJM, it's supposed to be for club drivers to use as car that will compete with WRC cars, there are 'I Think' 20 and they cost something like Ł20k
Mat, it was sunny all day friday

As so many have said, there's too much really for one day which is rare for a show these days...
Some awesome cars and drivers from the era before health and safety went beserk and the world became so PC.
I snapped a few cars and bikes on the Friday and for an amateur I was quite pleased with this Duke 999 going for it shot!

What were the Group 'B' rally cars like?? Did you get any video/sound footage??
I saw them back in 1983 when the rally of Great Britain was that and didn't just stick to one area. I was only 5 at the time so can't remember it too well. I remember being pelted by stones kicked up from the tyres however and stealing a No Entry sign.
Pete.

The highlight for me was the 900 hp Toyota Tacoma pikes peak 'pickup', it's hard to comprehend quite how fast this machine is, the driver was properly balls out, on the grass, fully sideways, the car looked so difficult to drive but what a spectacle

Testing the future
PF Dave wicked pic
here's some of mine from the sunday. took a new camera that i'm just learning and weather was absolute cack
so muddy, even the tractors were sideways
rally stage was good. the old ones are still the best
do get stuck easily though
the daddy of all rally cars ever
couldn't make the corner onto the startline without understeering into the bale though
some more modern rally cars
well slippy out there
ALS is cool
the current F1 hero
the bowler wildcat was fun
