ecu's

right looking at getting an aftermarket ecu for my zetec which needs to be able to
a. run throttle bodies
b. run a turbo engine

obviously this won't be at the same time, having an na build whilst i source parts to begin building a zt. what i'm after is some suggestions of ecu to use, but there are somethings i ideally want it to be able to do.
1. be able to use the majority of the original sensors.
2. run multiple maps (ideally 3)

any suggestions are welcome, but the main thing i want is to be able to run multiple maps. i was looking at an omex 600, but from what i can see, it can only run the one map. ideally want to be able to use the same ecu, but if it comes to it i'll ukeep one ecu with the throttle bodied engine, and ues a completely different one for the turbo, which is where i ideally want to run the multiple maps.

any help appreciated so i know how long i have to suffer in poverty for :top:

if you want multiple maps on a budget, probably your best option is emerald

an RP Lab converted L8 will also do 2 switchable maps, and can be configured for NA or blown. the conversion to 'cossie management' is also a known route.

why do you want 3 maps?

have been looking at the emerald aswell, just wanted to see what others were available without spending super silly money

If you want an ace system without paying over the top for a name like most, which are inferior IMO then there is ONLY one choice, EMERLAD.
Be warned though THE BACK UP IS AWSOME, unlike a lot of the others who lose interest when sold, if you had ever met DAVE or KARL, you would understand this comment.
If you had a genuine fault with one of their systems, they would not sleep until they had sorted it, they look after their customers, who have first priority on the rollers as well, I know as recently tried to book two different cars on there and they will not do them, as very very busy, they would have squeezed them in if emerald(ecu) though, which I think is the way it should be.
Dave W is a total non bullshit man, very straight, tells it like it is, so does not need to sell BHP.

good thinking :top:

i would probably go with the emerald in your position - long way to go to norfolk for dave walker to put it on his rollers to map though

remember if you got a laptop, you could have a million maps stored on it, and just re-fl;ash your ecu everytime you want a change :top:

well from the sounds of it, it would be worth it :top:

the idea of changine the map via laptop had crossed my mind, but the idea of being able to change the map whenever or wherever does appeal. be just my luck at santa pod that my laptops battery would die and have to run on a 95ron map
