a 1.9 130 audi a6 chipped to 180 odd would be very high on my list for half the money of the 330.

Much nicer car in everyway possible than the golf/leon imho.

A bora tdi wth the same engine/trim spec as a golf tdi is cheaper and a lower insurance group... worth considering.

I had a MKIV diesel anniversary golf, got it remapped to nigh on 200 ponies and it went like a rocket.

Paid £13500 for it and 18 months later sold it for £13500!

Its worth spending more now on one that has FVWSH an low mileage cos it'll help you retain its value.

Make sure it has had its cambelt done recently as VW are expensive, and the alloys corrode like fook so you'll need to clean them EVERY week with a tooth brush.

Generally the people who sell them know that they are desirable so you may have a bit of a task haggling.

Make sure you post a picture if you get one, I loved mine!!

You could also get a mk1 Leon Cupra Diesel, they're a 150bhp IIRC and look the mutts nuts

Plus,if you go down the VAG route, take it to IVC for servicing as they're really good and cheaper than main dealer. It's at Stourton near the Arla dairy

I've had a few mates who've taken their motors their and been well impressed, most recently dogsmoke took his fucked Carcraft Leon there and they sorted it right out
