I had to make up a flap to which is linked to the boost to surpress the noise as it was dam loud. the shutter on the front of the turbo is ment to stop it suckling in air when throttle is closed which in turn is ment to make the turbo overspin ready for when the throttle is planted. as you can see still got a lot to do inside the car but it is getting there slowly a bit like my skills of puttin on the pics lol.

So with the flap shut, it creats a vacuum so the turbo spins its ass of ready for when throttle opened again? How does the impellor shaft cope with this?

the problem we had with intake flaps on the turbo was oil being pulled out of the compressor seals this was in the early 90's

im just thinking towards over speeding the turbo, or doesnt it increase speed to that extent? What's the advantage over a conventional 'dump valve' then?

the shaft should be fine and the shaft in my turbo(t66) is a dam big(thick) shafts, i thick that the shutter would normally work off hyd" or a elcy motor but i machined a little juction box up to link my pedal to the twin cabels for the throttle bodys and another cabel for the shutter , wether it works or not on my motor is yet to be provern but i also have als which should help matters ,the only thing is my exhaust dont like it as it fires in insides out of it

as for drawing oil out of the turbo seals i used a big dry sump pump ( scavange stages) to help this and once before when it was dynod it never had a prob" but ye that was takern in to acount, old sump system had it own turbo scavange stage, only a small one mind ,as for over speed that is not always the best thing to do to a turbo but it different to a dump valve as the dump valve keep the turbo spining this should over speed it making it full on for more responce

it should see about 650 bhp with about 500 lbs at 2bar on road fuel and 700 bhp + on race fuel and as the boost can go up abit more it might supprise me and make a bit more its on liners so it should be safe ( famous last word ,lol )

its has been dynod but due to silly things it didnt get finished but before it was takern off it did make 590 bhp,480lbs at 25 psi and there is room for more ignition and more boost so the mapper said, and the target is 700 and thats what it was built for, but time will tell as it have got to stay together yet (fingers crossed ).

I would go coil on plug but i dont think the t6 ecu will run them ,as for the dpv i will find out how much it wont cost a body part lol ,but i will let you within a day or so ,the inlet on your turbo needs to have a outside dia" of at least 4 inches or there abouts ,be honest i want to get it done more so so that i can use the sequential 6speed box which is straight cut so it should sound the tits to and with full throttle change it should be fun

That will actually be my drema spec Cossie by the sound of it. Fair play to you, I'd love a sequential box.

Whats the spec on the rest of the car? Brakes/suspension etc...

Pete,
Nearly eveything on the car is be-spoke and custom built be Lacey, so it would be very difficult to put a value on it, as you wouldn't see many other cars of this type have this kind of time and money lavished on them - it truelly is a one off .

Amazing car... I remember years ago at an EA rolling road day and Dan was there. Some dentmaster guy was removing a tiny ding in the car... it was soooo small I could not even SEE it before the work let alone after!

Car is truely mint and a wicked and amazing spec!!! AWESOME CAR!

The rear lights do need changing though

Once agin thank you for the comments, i know of a rougth price of what it has cost but that from over ten year inc" buying it and 4 engines ,4 ecu,s ,5 turbos and so on , but if i knew how i wanted the build to be this time i could have cut the cost abit, but thats the fun of it ( sort of ) but a lot of part i could not afford or evern get in the spec i wanted so i make a lot of it right down to cnc brackets to hold the fire exst" nozzles and map sensor , i make my own motorsport pedal boxes which i have just modded once again for the hyd" thrust b" and the engine mount is turned into a vacum chambre for the vacum pipes and als bypass.
The front brakes are ap 355 with 6pots, pedal box, bias adjuster, ap 4pot on the rear with 285 discs and wilwood spot calipers which are modded with a cnc"d brackets and braided lines all round. my buget for this car is not endless for this build hence the time scale its taking and alot of it is due to bargins that cant be turned away (right place at the right time)
