Default mk4 1.25 engine asap questions

just had a small mishap with a friend in his late 99 1.25 zetec, its a mk4 but hasnt got an air flow meter on the air box, and has the digital dash board,

my question is, ive found a few new engines on ebay, but there either for early mk4s with an air flow meter, or mk5 shells, are these engines the same in the mk4 and mk5, or is there differences, ill be using his orriginal management,

i really need to no quickly peoples

are the engines the same in mk4 and mk5 ?

AFAIK the engines are the same across the board. If hes got the digi clocks, then you need the newer engines that ran on the digi too. Otherwise you have to change the loom and run analogue clocks.
Would be worth picking up the ecu with the engine too.
