Pic request - Downpipe brackets on S2's
How do you guys support the downpipe?
Ive done a google, and they do exist, just wondered on best way to support it! Cheers :top: |
I bolted a bracket to the bottom of the bulkhead and mounted it on an exhaust rubber. Bit fiddly but did the job. I think my exhaust was a magnex which had the flexi pipe on it.
|
stu the 90 spec escort xr3i has a bracket bolted just at the very front of the shell where the bulk head goes and suports from there if that helps :)
|
I don't think it's needed Stu, TBH.
A properly made downpipe coupled with a decent set of engine mounts should do the trick. I never have ANY problems with mine. My turbo nuts NEVER come loose (although I use fancy nuts between the Turbo and Manifold) and it all stays where it should. ;) |
fancy nuts ?
you mean that there pinched at the end so they dont rattle off,,, same as the fancy volvo police issue manifold nuts i bought for my cossie  |

Right, car is goin on Tonys bro's ramp week before RR day, we are gonna weld a bracket to exhaust and mount it somewhere suitable just for extra support.
Thanks for the replies :top: |
u don't want it tooooo tight mate....if the engine rocks and the exhaust doesn't, it'll just put extra stress on it ;)
