Telewest Question
I've got a mate who's getting telewest shortly, and wants to go wireless.
I've always had ADSL as we can't get cable up here. so not entirely sure how telewest's setup works. I assume you get a motorola surfboard modem or similar.
Can you just piggyback a wireless ethernet router off the back, plugging the modem into the WAN socket on the back? Then set the router's default gateway to go out through the modem??
Not familar with telewest and how it works, as i'm sure they used to only allow you one device on your line. This must have changed surely.
I feel like a right numpty asking this cos i'm a technical consultant for an IT company

yea you just run a router from the backend of the surfboard..I run LAN's of telewest with no problem... they no longer lock to to a MAC address which is how they used to prevent multiple systems
