YIPEE !! Retirement agreed at last
Hi
Have been told today that I can have the Severance Package I applied for a few months back. Leaving date agreed is 31st March 2007
Sorta knew at Crimbo but nothing in writing. Was worried cos the ‘Tornado project’ is set to continue, but now happily without me.
My plan had been one more Topspeed run & then sell the car in the Summer. MADRod had been killed off & that I thought was that. ( He may now return, but not in the next few months).
However things have changed & im in the progress of probably accepting a position that will enable me to continue this Lark. Decided I was too young to retire & so ive decided too meet the challenge of all those who think the Topspeed record is there for the taking , have entered Totb with Mike r at the helm, got to qualify first though . ( On the back of this have ordered a new Turbo & a Carbon-Clutch) so game on again lads. (Those who know new Spec don’t disclose any info Please.)

I think you may have lost something in translation .
Im on here to announce the end of a 44year career as a designer.
I did not expect to have a chance to keep working on my hobby once I retired . Now i have the chance to earn the pin-money I need to keep developing my car.
Have no desire to drive at totb, although I will ask all the others over 60 going to the qualifiers if they are up for it. We want to do well at this event , not have the first heart attack when doing 200mph- perhaps you should ask about my medical history before you answer this.

Rod,
My Dad is a similar age to you and I have only just managed to get him into track days since last year - my only wish was that he was as much of a petrol head as you .
Anyone that knocks you, should just ask what their Dads do at 60 (or Grandads if they are that age) and see the difference .
You're still MAD though .

and i dont need to ask about your medical history - you've mentioned it enough on here. I wasnt having a dig - i asked going on the info that you were retiring from work, so was just inquiring as to whether you may of taken the reigns yourself.
I have nothing in particular against you, just your way of going about things.
almost smacks of that you always have to be on the defensive.
As i said before (which got conveniently over looked), I sincerely offer you good luck, and perhaps my and other peoples perception of you will change at totb, where hopefully it wont be just yourself competing
