GRS intercooler temp's

Hi all, just want to post my findings from my new GRS intercooler fitted on my S2.Firstly its the full width one,evo 4 or something they're called. The venue was Donnington last Sunday at National Day.In the afternoon the highest charge air temp I recorded was 33 C!!!!  This was after 15 minutes (or approx 11 miles) of giving the car death out on track. This I think is a real test of the intercooler as opposed to the 1 mile up a hill in 5th gear test some people have done and posted on the net!!!!!Now considering that the ambient air temp was 22C I think this is very very impressive. The car runs a hybred turbo,19 psi, cone filter,285T cam and a Magnex exhaust.
I'm not a mate of Graham's and I dont get paid back handers etc (mores the pity :content: )but I just feel a good product deserves praise.Lastly I found it easy to fit and have no issue's with the bonnet wanting to open unexpectantly etc.Regards Micky

My mate is quite interested in 1 of you Evo 4 coolers and 10" kenlow fans for his S2. What sort of price should he be expecting to pay??

Hi Andy,I have NO (that's NO fans on the rad!!!!!) on the rad. This is because the car is only for trackdays and therefore never sits still in traffic etc.And as fans only move air thru the rad at 30mph max, there is no need for them,as the car on track never goes below 30mph,so fans would be a waste of time. Regards Micky

have you got a new Rad then? or an alloy Rad?

I did a few laps round Donnington and the water temps did climb even tho i was moving 60+ mph on track.

BTW i also was seeing 30-33 ºc Air intake temps running 18psi round Donnington on sunday. Thats much better than my Charge Cooler could keep after 5 laps   :top:

Surely that is not the best idea cos u will not be coming to a stop after an absoloute track thrashin and switchin it straight off will you? :?

Hi AdamS2RST,on the cool down lap I just take it nice and handy,at Donnington on Nat Day at the end of the cool down lap the water temp was down to the "O" on the water guage and the oil temp was down to 100C,so I dont think that turning the motor off at these temps is doing any harm.Regards Micky
