Agree with all the above. If you dont like it here then stay where you were. Of course places like Holland and Denmark are now reaping the whirlwind of their liberal policies - it could happen in the UK too. Good on Jack Straw for standing up and saying what some would get shot down in flames for

I welcome Jack Straws veiws on this. It has been an issue for me for some time, if muslims really do want to integrate themselves into our society/country then they must be willing to adopt our culture. In my increasingly racist outlook, muslims are hypocrites they are happy to embrace all that suits them, ie; drinking/smoking etc then they colonise areas of our cities, and then have the audacity to pontificate about the way we live our lives, promiscuity, binge drinking etc.
Building mosques, all over the place.
I beieve muslims hate, indeed detest white people and have an agenda.
Not enough is being done imo if they dont like it they can fuck off, this country is a soft touch a fucking joke.

you miss under stood me there getting killed in there country because of what they want to do i.e. do there Muslim things but usa all ways seams to get involved Muslim country so they flood into loads of other country and do there thing there I think if all Muslim country was to be free from occupations then most Muslims would go back my opinion

Just to get back on topic, and also play devil's advocate for a second, Straw said about veils making things difficult for communication, and so far there have been at least ten replies saying:
Ignoring my own opinion on this, and sticking purely to the facts, exactly which rules are orthodox muslims breaking by wearing a veil to cover the face?
If they don't like the rules in OUR country they know where they can go

But , youths cant go in shops with their hoodies on round here, as they arent recognisable if they nick owt....but they(muslims) can wear full face cover!
Oh, and turbans...dont have to wear a crash helmet! Stuff like that is what i refer to rich

I actually agree that it makes communication difficult, and wearing a veil IS a barrier when two people try to communicate. That is pure common sense, and is not meant to offend anyone. Muslim councils that have reacted angrily to Straw's comments have entirely missed the point.
It's not a dig at a religion - just a matter of fact observation. Muslim counclis would have been far better off just saying "yes, we like wearing veils - what's the problem?" instead of getting all high and mighty and getting offended at every opportunity.
Aside from all that, there should never be a case where government dictates what people can and cannot wear.

Again, another person who missed the point.
What rules? So muslim women going into shops wearing veils has been a serious problem up until now has it? Considering the muslim community is accused of being too insular, and that they generally only shop in muslim owned shops etc, it therefore shouldn't be a problem for you should it, because you're never likely to see a muslim lady wearing a veil in your bank.
Stop looking for an excuse to discriminate against someone. Grow some balls, and just come out and say you don't like people wearing alternative clothing!

This is my country this is the country i love and respect i have never been racist and have many friends of many beliefs and cultures but when they wanna come here whoever they may be and bomb and maim and cause sooo much heartbreak and not have the balls to to take responibility for what people in theire religion do in the name of Allah then i say

The IRA killed and maimed a lot more people than any muslims have in this country of ours but we don't jump on the Irish people and tar them all with the same brush do we? Lighten up a bit and remember when you say 'they came over here and did this and that' remember most of them were born here so didn't need to 'come over here' at all!

It's just people can't express themselves like they would like to as it would cause public outrage and upset as there's too many fuckin do gooders in the country!
Better policies in the country are needed regarding immagration thats for sure, i've seen some shocking footage of people coming in over our borders on TV, really is depressing!
Anyhow, back on topic, I think Jack Straw has a very valid point and is right to speak his mind
RAN, care to enlighten me as to why sikh's wear turbans? (honest question as I have NO idea!
