Car shopping with the mother in law!?!
Been on the hunt for a new car for the Mother-in-law and found a whole hoard of nice late model Escorts and Fiesta's within her budget. After all that hardwork she wants a Pauxhall Ashtray
She went mad for a Mk3 facelift on an R plate and it wasn't half as well equipped as the most basic Escort I found. Even hand manual windows

Funny you should say that about the Vauxhall vs Ford thing with the spec......
Earlier this year we were looking for a new car for Gemma.... £4000 budget and we were really looking for a Focus but for the same money we got a newer and much much higher specced Astra with a bigger engine that the Focus variant... all the Auto Focus's were lower spec 1.6 16v and we ended up with a 1.8 16v Astra Elegance (with all the bling inc cruise control that I get told off when playing with it on the motorway as I spend more time fiddling with it than driving.......lol)
