That and the fact that it was never used in any form of competition compared to the other RS Fords.

Typical Ford. My mate used to work for Tickford who did the development work on the Focus RS engine and he said they must of spent millions developing the engine, what with there strict quality and reliability standards. So what do they do, after spending all this money developing the Focus RS, and selling all 4500 Focus RS cars in about ten seconds flat, well its quite logical really, you pull the plug on the whole thing and get back to making Focus ST170 or what ever the'sporty' Ford is now a days
Thanks goodness this current management board wasn't working at Ford during the early Eighties to mind Nineties, we'd nothing to buy
I dont understand it, I like the Fiesta RS concept, it looks brilliant, and based on Focus RS sales would have sold, the development work on the engine is done if a Focus RS unit was used? so why

They only produce 4500 (well an extra focus RS was built to raise money for charity) because its a limited production. If they built 45000 or 450000 what would make them so special, then there would be so many smashed up ones sitting in scrap yards for people to go and raid parts off of and build up their 1.6 zetec models.....
