non fuel injected car > fuel injected question...
i am soon to be changing my pick up to fuel injection, what exactly to i have to do i want to keep the original petrol tank?
been told i need to run a swirl pot or something... if anyone can help me out that would be cool cheers rich :top: |
anyone :? :D
|
Injected cars do run an internal fuel swirl pot to help prevent fuel starvation, so yes ideally you'll need a fuel tank from an injection vehicle (easiest option, imo).
|
but can it be done the opposite way, keep the original tank and run an external swirl pot?? :?
|
Of course.
You'd need 2 fuel pumps, a low capacity (say, a facet Red top) to supply the swirl pot. And then a proper one to feed the engine. The engine would return to the swirl pot, and the swirl pot would return to the tank. HTH |
I suppose you could, but reckon it would be more hassle. The high power Cossie boys do similar to the above (usually in the spare wheel well).
|
what ever's easiest to be honest...
dont want loads of grief... i've got my fiesta turbo tank which i could use... :-) |
Buy an XR3i tank. Cheap as chips from one of these pattern places. :top:
Cheaper than a facet fuel pump, and sure as shit cheaper than a swirl pot. |
i've kept my FRST one would this do the same job?
rich :D |
