got the urge for an RS again
its only been a couple of weeks since I sold up.. but I want a S1 already I think beacuse it was my second car for 7 years, and only had that and one other car, I miss it
does the urge stop as driving these days seems boring..
I said to myself, once its gone, no more maintenance cars.., but the force is strong on this one

It will never go away. I'm pining for a certain red S2 in the for sale section, but the inland revenue are taking years refunding my tax so it's a non starter I;m afraid

Its hard for the first 2-3 years.
I only sold my RST after my dad died,
The night before he died we went round for dinner and he said to me, "ill never be alive when you sell that bloody car"
The reason for this chat was that the box blew 2 days earlier at brunters on a mag shootout for performance ford.
This made up my mind, i fixed it then sold it.
It was hard at first but when you drive cars like the M3 which doesnt give 5% of the agro an RS does you see it from a different prospective.
I trully think you need deep pockets to be an RS owner, there highly unreliable and cost a fortune to run.
I bet a large proportion of members here could have bought a 911 or a 355 for the money they have spent on there RS.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
it never leaves
once a ford nut always a ford nut
agreed there are cars out there that are better than RS's but theres something great about them
give it a year and you will want one.
my friends have all got different cars, boxsters, vag turbos, tvr's
and all cars are good for different people but all of them love going in my saff
saying that though, since my missus bought an mx-5 i have been borrowing it ALOT
jump in, drop the roof, crank up the stereo, go out for a blat, and hang the arse end out at every opportunity, cant beat it

If you choose to hammer a 15 year old car with an old loom/sensors and a tired engine and gearbox it will be unrelaible lol
But yes, to properly prepare and maintain an RS for relaible daily use does require deep pockets...but its unfair to call them unrelaible IMO.
ANY old car that is pushed beyond standard spec on old components and running gear will be unrelaible
