i have 2 sets of id , one from the car i wrote off , and the re-shell i got , which is the one im breaking , the one i wrote off was a H plate and the Shell i bought is an E plate , i was going to do a legal ring by sticking the H plate floor number over the E plate one , but as im breaking it i will have the id left from the H plate , i was only asking if i could post it , but it seems i cant so dont worry about it , cheers

Legal ring? What the fuck are you talking about. Sticking another car's Id on a different car isnt legal in the slightest..

never heard of a legal ring mate ,you cant just go sticking floor numbers around.
I looked into this in depth when i reshelled my 3 door into a new 3 door shell and it is very complicated .

it is a legal ring because i would have had the id from 2 cars with V5's and the fact i wouldnt be hiding the original floor number from the E plat one and as i used over 80% off the H plate , it is classed as a legal ring , thats wot the fuck im talking about mate

It's a different SHELL thats the important bit which means it has to go on a Q plate. So no, that's not what the fuck you're talking about And you still cant stick the other id on it.

Well it doesnt seem to have sunk in yet that what you are doing is illegal, i havent seen you post saying "actually rather than lose both ID's and end up in caught i will keep the E plate registration as thats not breaking the law"

So i thought you might need a little more help trying to decide wether to do the right thing or not

its ok as im breaking the E plate that is on my sig so i will just dump the rest of the tags etc although it looks like the local srappy will love having the shell after ive paid him £20 to take it from me , so he can make a few quid

There is no more light needed on this topic.

THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO CONDITIONS WHATSOEVER WHERE A VIN NUMBER CAN BE TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER SHELL.

There is no legal use the purchase of a Vin plate / V5 set can be put to.

When a shell dies the Vin number dies with it.

you mean you have 2 cars and 2 log books, both of which match the numbers from the plates and engines etc if the police were to do a check cia the dvla?

how can you buy a shell on "an E plate"? if you need to reshell a car you have to buy a new shell with no numbers on it so that you can transfer the identity of the bent shelled vehicle onto the new shell you have bought with no identity, thus, making sure everythig is all above board and legitimate

murder is still murder if you kill someone unlawfully in a premeditated fashion, speeding is still speeding even if you don't get caught, ringing is still ringing, even if you try to make it look legal it's still ringing

why? just use the e plate shell to put your H plate stuff into, granted there will be a few differences, esiceially if you've got an 87 E and a 90 spec H, but thats what swapping stuff about means doens't it?

if you are breaking the e plater then you flog the stuff you are taking off, what could be simpler? thats what happens when you break a car isn't it?

yes, until you scrap it, and then they will want you to give them the log book to say you've had it scraped and so the dvlc don't send you letters telling you that you have been naughty and not sorn'd your motor

posting vehicle identity wihtout having an actual shell to go with it is fairly illegal, illegal enough so that you might get a knock on the door from some blokes wearing tits on their heads

to sum up:
1, what you are trying to do is illegal and you can't do it
b, remove the parts from the H plate and fit them to the E plate
