Lotus cortina
Sorry for the quality of the image (from phone) but i thought this might interest a few people:
Belongs to an old fella i know, currently putting out 146bhp, he has owned it from new and its utterly mint
Cant be many "1 owner from new" lotus cortina's left these days, lol
Really nice motor, and the old boy has been driving it pretty hard for most of those 40 years from what i gather, so its a long way from just a showpiece.
Must fit him like a pair of comfy old slippers after over 4 decades together

My dad's mate had a mark 1 Lotus Cortina, however had to sell it a few years back as he got himself a divorce................
He was head of engineering at Ford Dagenham, donkey's years ago and given his one as a company car (which he bought in the end)......
If anyone knows of it the REG was J00 776C

my mate owns 'FFA' which is well known in lotus circles, it was the car used in the great train robbery reconstruction and bruce reynolds drove it to plan the robbery in the re-construction
He was recently offered Ł35k for it and told the bloke to ram it....it is absolutly mint
i thought (as he is such a bufty with it) that he would drive it all girly like, but we went to battlesbridge, me in my old saff and him in his cortina and he came past me on sadlers roundabout sideways giving it everything it had, and you should have heard that twinky scream....fookin awesome
pugo

Not sure how many times he has rebuilt the engine etc, he's extremely mechnically minded though, so will have done it as required, it doesnt smoke or knock or rattle though, looks and sounds like a new car as he drives off in it!

your not wrong there dude
is this car an early one or a late one??? ali panelled+A frame back end or not, because if its an early car and with the history and is really tidy it could be a lot more than 30k
