Don`t lie, your thinking about it, else why ask :blabla: :blabla: :blabla:

pmsl, ive always liked the 4&5 but then have always wanted a supra.
I know they are tottaly diferant cars but just wondered what peoples thoughts are on them.

evos

well the 4,5 and 6 are virtually the same and any differences can be updated to either model, hence a cheap evo 4 making a good project. Obviously the 6 is better as it is a later evolution of the car but everything from the 6 will fit in an evo 4 or 5 :DD: . Then i think it is the same with the 7,8 and 9 but am not sure. The early evos chasis aint as strong as the later ones but they are still just as good. Hope that helps a bit ;)
I currently have an evo and series 2, the evo wins hands down in everything and i would recommend one to all. HOWEVER IT IS NOT AS FUN AS DRIVING THE RS :DD:. There is just something about being behind the wheel of an rs that i love and i am sure we all do, its like no other (when they run right :( )

There are effectively 3 major revisions of the evo

1,2,3

4,5,6

7,8,9

Any bits are easily interchangable between each group, but not always with the other groups, so a 4,5,6 are all very similar.

Not sure I would agree with the word "easily". Some parts are bolt ons to the same revision but its not as easy as bolting cossie parts onto a GL.

I have looked at a 9 IX rear bumper for my VII which requires some chopping. :)

Mike - I think 8's are OK for 9 bits. A couple of mates have MR's, will ask them. I like the diffuser on the 9 and the number plate relocator compared to my 7. Prefer my front bumper to the 9 though.

Will let you know, think I have you on MSN anyway. Off for a few bevvies tonight with them.

MikeR Aug 18, 2006 08:12 AM

Yeah i have you on msn, if you could that would be great as it is the diffusser i am after also, they are just bloody exspensive from the dealer brand new........

Cheers mike

This is the thread:

http://www.evolutionoz.net/forum/php...light=rear+bar

You might need to join though and my apologies, it is the rear bar that is straight forward to fit and the front that isnt. That has actually solved my problem as I dont like the front bar anyway.

BTW includes some very sexy Evo pics and some shots of the work in progress
