how thick is plaster board???
ive seen 9.5mm stuff in wickes but can you get it thicker?
I need half inch thick as my mate has fooked up in getting me my wood and done me 33mm instead of 38mm!!
anyone?
oh and well im pondering stuff..... tiled floors upstairs... i want to put something down to ensure the floor is decent to tile to... I was going to use hardboard... turned upside down and PVA coated before i put tiles on top of it? anyone know if thats a reasonable idea? what did you use?

Whats the floor currently consist of?
If you have P5 chipboard down, then you can tile on top of it.
What I would normally recommend, is that you lay some 3-4mm ply on top of the existing floor, securly fasten it then coat it in 50% PVA/Water mix (if you've not used Marine). When ready to tile, use a tile adhesive with latex in it.
