Default looked at a Fez turbo 2nite.bit of tech advice needed pls ??

looked at a fez turbo 2nite. im after a bit of advice about how it was.

its had a new actuator, new t3 turbo,new K n N fitted and a set up ??

the chap said the co was ok .what is it supposed to be at ??

he said the garage couldnt get the HC down??? whats that ???

at the back of the engine bay there is a plastic bracket with a long plug going in to a socket and below is wot looks like a to pin sensor plug going in something else and nect to it is a black plastic screw which he says neededs turning to set it up properly???

the main prob is when started it ticks over fine but after a couple of minutes is just splutters like shit. it dont cut out , just runs lumpy. when you drive it it runs and boosts fine . holds 0.6 bar ??

the other thing is when you remove the oil cap when its running i thought the revs usually drop and then rev up again but whenyou remove this cap it doesnt make any difference what so ever ???? is this right???

any advice would be brillant . dont mind getting it if it just needs setting up but not if its on its last legs !

the litle co screw is as you decribe should be somehere near the map sensor on behind the inlet on the black plastic bulhead cover

with the oil cap it sonly escort mfi that when you take the cap off it should lower or cut out as its a ricirculating braether system, hence any air leaks the car cuts out

what you described sounds like the map sensor and co screw....

if it's a good deal buy it then get an MSD chip on it,then the MOT will be a doddle

HC is usually the 'hydrocarbons' .....your allowed so many parts per million ( ppm ) in your exhaust gas. if it's too high it fails.

I happen to have the emissions bit of my MOT here, for CO, the max is 0.2% and for HC 200 PPM. Both at fast idle. At idle, CO needs to be less than .3%.

HC's can be anywhere below 1100ppm for cars registered before 1993, and co can be anywhere below 5% i think
