you should go on stealth then @ thorpe park.

same starting accel as RITA, but after 600 foot you go vertically up for 200, feet, twist through 90 degrees, then over the top, in a tight radius, back down to earth (vertical) 90 degree twist, then run off

top

It was originally chosen to be themed on a biker girl called Rita, since it was a launch coaster it would be like riding on the back of her bike. The ride at that point was called 'Ride Rita' which was pretty catchy. There were a lot of adverts put up round the park and online showing a cartoon image of a girl in leathers which was traced from the Kill Bill poster.

For some reason the whole theme changed to 50's hotrodding and since they'd already coined the Ride Rita title they couldn't make a drastic name change so late on, so the 'Ride Rita' name was dropped in favour of 'Rita Queen Of Speed' and bizarely involved Transvestites during its launch.

I'm not sure why this happened but it appeared to me to be a knee jerk reaction to how risque the name 'Ride Rita' was as it obviously had a double meaning. Or perhaps it was technical limitations with trying to make the carridges like motorbikes.

Really? Do I? Where?

The big one bores me to tears and i can hold a solid conversation all teh way round it, play with my balls and take pictures mate. In fact, i did so for charity for many many misserable cold hours. lol.

I even took these pictures on PF days out myself i was so scared...

Upside down on teh revolution:

Big one drop tide out.

Big one drop tide in.

However your report that Rita is at least better than the Pepsi max is great news indeed. Thanks.

Agree fully with the acceleration!!! It's mad! You should have seen my face on the picture that you see at the end......looks as though I was crapping it! lol! Totally opposite as it was BRILLIANT!

Pity the queue was soo flipping long, as we would have run round to do it again!

Blahhh
Rita is mere Childs play!

Kingda Ka is the tallest and fastest

Kingda Ka will begin with an impressive launch from zero to 128 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The coaster's train will then rises up a tower at a vertical angle, twisting 90 degrees, reaching a height of 456 feet or nearly 45 stories.

Crossing the apex riders will begin a vertical descent into a 270 spiral as the train falls again reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph. The entire ride will be just under one minute.
