Default coilovers on S2

I was under the impression that coilovers on the rear of Escort Mk3 and 4's require mods to the turrets. Can anybody confirm this and does anybody know what suspension setup Tim Butcher is running on his beastie?

If you want my personal take on it (and I mean personal) mate then...

If the car is used on the road then they 'should' be fine with no mods.

If the car is used on track or for any sort of competition then you should certainly think about doing some mods.

That can be taken with a pinch of salt though, because if the roads where you live have lots of speed bumps, sleeping policemen, traffic calming measures etc then that will place extra strain on all the components and the cars chassis, so again some mods should be considered.

At the end of the day you need to be safe in whatever condition you drive your car. NOBODY is going to guarantee to what extent 'safe' means.
That is upto you.

I was told when looking into having coil overs put on mine that in all reality it was a must.......

Basically if the garage were going to do it then they wanted to mod the arch/turret
