Good cars, go for the slightly later model and have the lux of a 6 speed box and revised suspension amongst other upgrades.

Search for this on PF as there have been plenty of posts about these

They look a bit old imho i know the sierra cosworth is no modern design icon but to most people a m5 is just a 5 series beemer with a m badge on the bonnet, nothing special.

The newer shape e39 535/540 V8 is what i quite like the look of.

If you think a 4.4 v8 with 285bhp compares with a 2000e that is!

I love the e34 M5!! I have been thinking about getting one of these for ages. The earlyer one with the 3.2 are better, the 3.8 has loads more problems but the 3.2 is bullet proof !! the ajustable shocks are Ł600 each on the 3.8!!

SPEND 4-6K AND get a 1995 jaguar XJR supercharged 320bhp and dont half go some good all round performers

Straight 6

Or spend 7+ and get the V8 version which is 375bhp standard and F*****G flys

Until they go wrong! I used to work for Jag and they are a long long way shy of being cheap to maintain and repair
