My epic adventure to NYRSOC show @ lightwater valley
Right guys, it all started on Saturday dinner time in Oxfordshire (I'm from Teeside). Popped down to see my cousin get married
On they way to the church the clutch cable decided it had enough abuse and let go , managed to limp it to the church with 15mins to spare i decided to phone all the local garages / motor factors, all of which could not get a cable til monday
Watched my cousin get married and all the bumf that goes with it. Again limped the car to the reception round the corner (very close encounter with a bus ) Tried in vein to make a temp repair to get up for the camping but failed so decided to call the AA
I explained to the woman on the phone that the cable had snapped and required assistance. this was at 6pm. Van arrived at 7pm ish. Bloke could not fix her so rang for a low loader to recover me home.
I rang several fellow Cleveland group members already at Lightwater vally to see if any trade stands had a clutch cable. Got a phone call back shortly after saying that Paul from NORTHYORKS RS SPARES had a spare cable in the boot of his own car and i could use this when i arrived (TOP BLOKE )
Well as i was now getting recovered, i decided its about time to have a skin full at the reception so why not. Eventually the lowloader came at 11.30pm gets put on the back and set off!!!
Then the bloke tells me that he is finishing his shift soon and could only take me half way , so gets dropped off in service station somewere and picked up by another lowloader. By this time its nocking on for 2am
Eventually arrived at lightwater valley at 5am, to be greeted by a well needed cup of T (Cheers John and Judith ).
After having some breakfast and listening to Carl & Emma snoring and farting i decided to fit my donor cable and all was well Got half way through polishing the car and decided it was time for bed.
Well had no sleep since 9am saturday so thats me off to bed
