FAO: any scottish folk....
Does anybody live around the Rosyth area and commute to edinburgh or vice versa??
Im over there for a job interview next wednesday and if i get it a wanted to know what the costs are for travelling from edinburgh to rosyth with regards to petrol. Obviously i wont take the S1 but ill use the trusty 1300 fez but as i live only 15 minutes away from where i work now i expect there will be a reasonable increase with regards to fuel. Can anybody give any advice on this? Cheers Pete |
edinburgh to rosyth ain't that far. But you'll spent alot of time in traffic. It gets a tad busy up there
 |
Im counting on everybody going the other way when im going to work, hope its not a 7 am start
Plus where i work no i start at nine, get on my bed at 8.20 get spruced up and im there for five to nine     Culture shock on the way methinks ;) |
sory i know its not kind of related but it recently took me 5 hours to drive from edinburgh airport to kirkcaldy which really cheesed us off ! :(
|
As said, bridge is a NIGHTMARE, mate comes from Dunfermline and gets the train ;)
|
....and you have to pay for the delay too !!
|
going over to fife is nowhere near as bad as going the other way in the morning.a 7am start would probably be much better as roads are dead and youd only be leaving about 10 mins later for an 8 start  like me trying to get through te town :wall:

The bridge itself costs £1 to cross northbound only.
The southbound queue to go into Edinburgh is well developed by 7am. I'm slightly further north than Rosyth at 31 miles from home to city centre and to be there for 9am means leaving by 7am latest. Even getting to the airport which is this side of the city I leave by 6.45 to get an 8am check-in. Coming out of Edinburgh in the morning is usually easy, but at night-time you have the queue for the toll-booths from about 4pm though they are working on the plaza at present in preparation for electronic tolls. |
