What makes you proud of where you come from ?
Strange question I know but what makes you think " I might take the piss at times but I would miss this ..." about where you are from ?
A bit of a weird question but at the minute when the weather is good and I'm driving to work over the Tyne bridge and I look down the Tyne I think "I'd miss this place" and "I'm proud to be a Geordie (for some strange reason)"
For me it's seeing the Tyne bridge and things like this .....
Everytime I walk upto that place I get goosebumps and think I'm glad I'm a Geordie !!
Howay what's your thing ?

I live in the Lake District and am 10 mins away from Lake Windermere and then north of that all the countless other lakes, tarns, mountains with snow on (even in summer) ! and the breath taking scenery. I see it every day and take it for granted. It's only when i go away and come back i realise what a truly gorgeous place it is.
Then 10 minutes later, take it for granted again

Absolutely nothing. I live in a shit part of the world, and am not proud or patriotic to it at all.
The ONLY thing I can think of that I would miss if I didn't live here is : at least it's not a city centre. I'd hate to live in a densly populated shit hole area - at least I have tree's and shit here
But then, if I have my way, I'm moving out to the country, away from all the shit and city life, to more remote and peacefull surroundings

I love it where i am. You have Cardiff just down the road, with the best stadium in the country, loads of development going on there and great atmosphere. And then in the other direction you not fare from some of the best roads and scenery in the country

Sounds sad, but I'm proud to come from Middlesbrough.
I'm an Engineer, and this place has a really strong engineering heritage
I's a shithole for sure, but it's my shithole
Neil.

Beeing a true petrol head I think the thing i'd miss most if I went away would be some great twisty roads we have in the Lisbon suburbs.
Come to think of it that's exactly it, because I worked as an international truck driver all over europe for two years and apart from my loving family that was what I truly missed: Me, my car and a wonderful empty road...

You have the great advantage of when you come back up here driving over the tyne bridge and thinking "I'm home" or is that just me when ever I go down South.
